Bangalore based architectural photographer Pallon Daruwala’s image The Veil won 3rd place in the nature category at the 12th Black & White Spider Awards at an event that was streamed online on October 14, 2017 and watched by 11,000 people. "Daruwala’s The Veil, an exceptional image represents black and white photography at its finest, and we’re pleased to present him with the title of Honor of Distinction,” noted Basil O’Brien, creative director for the Awards, quoted in a press note from the Awards organizers.

Four other photographs taken by Daruwala (see "Textures are my thing,” Parsiana, August 21, 2016) were nominated in the architectural, children of the world, still life and abstract categories. The jury members included industrialists, artists, advertising professionals, magazine publishers and animation professionals from New York, London, Singapore, Toronto and Malaysia.
Daruwala is currently showing 27 images of his work in a show titled "Yellow” at the Crimson Art Gallery, Hatworks Boulevard, Bangalore. On till December 20, the exhibits are a result of his sojourn in the erstwhile Portuguese colony of Diu in Gujarat. Gallerist Silloo Daruwalla of Crimson told the Bangalore Mirror of November 25 that "Pallon’s photographs are not what one would expect of a place.” She points out, "There are very few landscapes as most of the works displayed are fine art abstraction.”
