XYZ’s e-bulletin
XYZ Foundation, started by Hoshaang Gotla two years ago, has added another activity to the busy calendar for its "extremely young” members. Since September 2016, an e-publication, Bulletin Board (BB, pictured next page), is being brought out and will
be handled in turn by teams within XYZ. The inaugural BB was brought out by Behram’s Battalion, which also produced the second one, issued in November.
As Gotla wrote in the initial issue, BB brings news of XYZ’s activities into the homes of people. Being online, it is environmentally friendly, saving on paper and printing, he shared with Parsiana over the telephone on November 25, 2016. It also serves to revive the "almost lost art of writing,” with the editorial teams being guided by volunteers and parents.
In addition to news, BB carries editorial comment, crossword, science quiz, riddles, brain teasers, cartoons, recipes, grandma’s remedies, interviews with members and words of encouragement from mentors. Of particular value is the section on "Learning Gujarati” where young readers are encouraged to master the basic consonants and vowels to enable them to write their names. As written Gujarati has been neglected by the community, an assignment is included to sustain the interest of young Zoroastrians.
