A navjote in Delhi
The navjote ceremony of Chaitanya Kersi Jaikaria, the grandson of the former president of the Delhi Parsi Anjuman (DPA) and current member of the National Commission for Minorities Dadi Mistry and Nergish was performed at the Pherozeshaw Godrej Culture Centre of the DPA on August 29, 2016. Ervads Khushroo Madon and Noshir Dastoor performed the evening ceremony. Chaitanya’s parents are Behroze and Navdeep.

The invitation was accompanied by a two-page explanation of the significance of the initiation ceremony for guests not familiar with the ceremony which noted "wearing the sudreh and kusti promotes a fellow-feeling and a sense of brotherhood among Zoroastrians. He/she openly proclaims his loyalty to an ancient noble faith.” The new initiate will be permitted to legally enter the Katrak Pallonji Dar-e-Mehr in Delhi which is open to all Zoroastrians regardless of race.
