Glaring mistake
I have seen the trailer of the film Rustom starring Akshay Kumar which is purportedly based on the 1959 murder case involving Cdr Kawas Nanavati in Bombay.

The top photo of the right shoulder correctly shows the
circle over the third stripe. In the picture below, the circle
goes under the stripe, which is incorrect
The shoulder stripes of officers in the Indian Navy are worn in a particular manner, with the loop/circle on the stripes of each shoulder going backwards, and not forwards as has been shown during the entire film. This means that the stripe for the left shoulder has been worn by Kumar on the right shoulder, and vice versa. I find it difficult to believe that such a glaring mistake could have been made in the film. Didn’t the producers have a naval consultant who could have pointed out this mistake?
Officers newly inducted in the Navy were prone to make this mistake, for which they paid the penalty of standing drinks all around to whoever was present in the Wardroom Mess. Luckily, I escaped this.
