Pharma award for Patel

In recognition of his work as an able administrator with innovative approaches and his association with the pharmaceutical industry for over three decades, Daara B. Patel, secretary general of the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA) was named Pharma Professional of the Decade. The award, bestowed by Pharma Leaders Group, an online news portal focused on keeping life sciences industry executives, manufacturers, marketers and educators connected, informed and educated. The award was presented at a well-attended function held at Hotel Sahara Star in Bombay on December 26, 2014, notes an email received from IDMA.

Patel, 61, who has been overseeing various activities of the IDMA for over 10 years, has in the past worked with several leading pharmaceutical companies like Parke Davis, J. L. Morison, Warner Hindustan, Wockhardt and Hindustan Ciba Geigy. He is also an active member of the Lions Club of Byculla and served as district governor in 2008-2009.
