Rustom Baug’s roads

By Sherene Vakil · September 21, 2014
The residents of Rustom Baug can look forward to re-laid roads in their colony thanks to the inflow of funds from MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) Madhu Chavan who, along with Milind Deora of the Congress Party have been assisting and participating in various projects of Rustom Baug as well as Jer Baug which is located in the vicinity. On August 24, 2014 Chavan inaugurated the project whose first phase will involve the road extending from the third gate to Blocks C, D and E. The remaining roads will be attended to in the second phase, Rustom Jasoomoney informed Parsiana via the email.

Present at the inaugural ceremony were Dinshaw Mehta, chairman of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet, Kumi Daroowala, doyenne of the colony, Anahita Desai, chief executive officer of the World Alliance of Parsi Irani Zarthoshtis, residents Rusi Sethna, Vispi Dastur, Percy Bahmani and Hosi Batliwala, in addition to Jasoomoney. Chavan, youth leader Sameer Chavan and Ronnie Bugwadia, president minority cell (W/202) were thanked by committee members of the Rustom Baug Association for giving a patient hearing to their grievances and extending a helping hand.
The road to be tackled in the first phase also requires to be widened, noted the MLA who felt it was too narrow for large vehicles like ambulances or fire tenders to traverse, especially when the residents’ cars are parked there, notes the email.
