By Sherene Vakil · July 21, 2014
Brig (Retd) Jahangir Anklesaria, president of the Ahmedabad Parsi Panchayat (APP) addressed a number of key issues concerning the community at the AGM (annual general meeting) of the APP held at the Parsi Sanatorium Compound, Navrangpura, on June 8, 2014. He announced the APP’s plan to hold a special general body meeting on September 7, 2014 to discuss certain important issues such as the setting up of an aramgah, shifting the Navroji Vakil Adarian and certain amendments to the rules and bylaws of the APP. A secret ballot would be conducted to decide these matters. He also mentioned that a new bore well was to be drilled in the Agiary compound so that important ceremonies like ijashni and the vandidad can be performed there, notes a write-up received from the APP.
