Put on your thinking caps

Thank you Parsiana for your brilliant and very informative 50th anniversary issue (November 7, 2013). It is very heartening to know that there are so many sane and progressive voices who are all for change in the right direction. But, I am afraid it will fall on deaf ears — ears and eyes that cannot hear and see beyond their own noses!
For the rabid, bigoted so-called keepers of our faith their only agenda seems to be a further fragmentation of the community. Why? Because it suits their agenda today. They have no compunctions about frittering away funds on inane schemes like the vulture aviary and on frivolous court cases. Funds which are not theirs to dispose of at their whims and fancy. Funds which could be put to better use for the greater good of our community and people in general.
If I had to pick one line from this 50th issue, one line that would define the state of our world today, it would be: "Religion is the bane of mankind.” So, let us put on our thinking caps, phetas, topis, pagdis and ponder deep into our souls.
