Banking impediment

Parsis should feel proud that we have our own bank, the Zoroastrian Cooperative Bank. However, the Bank does not have a RTGS IFSC code or the NEFT IFSC code. They want customers to inform their payers that the amount should be credited to the account of the Zoroastrian Co-operative Bank with HDFC Bank which would later credit the amount to their savings or current bank accounts. In short, the money cannot come directly to accounts with the Zoroastrian Cooperative Bank.
Should not the Zoroastrian Cooperative Bank take steps to remove this impediment?

At Parsiana’s request, Tehmasp K. Bharucha, senior vice president operations and administration, The Zoroastrian Cooperative Bank Limited responds:
Since the Zoroastrian Cooperative Bank does not have direct RTGS/NEFT membership, we have made arrangements with HDFC bank for our clients to route the transaction through our HDFC account. We, at the Bank, are indeed aware of the need to have direct membership and have already taken up the issue with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). We are constantly following up in the matter and expect a positive response from the RBI in the near future. Once we are granted RTGS/NEFT membership, we shall be able to provide this facility to our clients. We do understand the concerns of our clients and assure them that the needful will be done at the earliest.
