“Around the world in...”

Through my Bombay based friends I have received the very touching and interesting report about the two global cyclists, Framroze Davar and my great-uncle Gustav Sztavjanik ("Around the world in seven months,” Parsiana, June 21, 2012). I have also sent a copy of the magazine to my sister who is already in contact with researchers Ruth Pleyer and Dominik Hruza.

It fills me with great joy and I would like to thank you and your community all over the world for your hospitality, interest and support that my great-uncle and his friend had enjoyed during their journey and in your country. I am sorry that I missed the lecture on their great adventure (at the K. R. Cama Oriental Institute by Pleyer and Hruza on February 13, 2012).

Like my great-uncle, I am Austrian born (née Sztavjanik) but I live and practice as a lawyer in Spain. A very dear friend from India has helped me to trace my great-uncle’s story to the Bombay Cycling Club and the book, Round the World on Bicycles. Dr KATJA BLACKMER
