It was with great pleasure and relief that I saw the advertisement in Parsiana of November 21, 2013 about the Late Adi Hakim, Rustom Bhamgara and Jal Bapasola Award instituted by the Shree Parsi Panchayat, Vadodara (VPP), in honor of the three Parsis world cyclists. I sincerely pray that Parsis take advantage of it, and make it possible for the donors to keep adding to the corpus.

This award is very close to our hearts. It was a four-year effort on the part of my late husband Dara and myself to first get the book on the world cyclists published by Roli Books, followed by back-breaking correspondence and discussions to have the award instituted. What saddens me is that Dara slogged single-handedly to have the award approved by the VPP’s board of trustees (where he himself was a sitting trustee!). I know the stress and strain he went through. The award took nearly two years to fructify and reach the stage when the advertisement was released. Unfortunately, Dara is no longer with us to see his efforts pay off.
