SmartClass at DPYA

The EduComp SmartClass Program, an audiovisual aid to help teachers explain lessons better on a giant screen has been installed at the Dadar Parsee Youths Assembly (DPYA) High School from this academic year. The School, started over 50 years ago and located in the serene heritage precincts of the Mancherji Joshi Dadar Parsi Colony, is becoming modern and tech compliant, DPYA trustee Mahiyar Dastoor informed Parsiana via e-mail.
The School has improved the quality of education provided with its new computer and science laboratories, a revamped website and by installing this new program. With nearly 2,000 students in two shifts, the School has 26 classrooms as well as a science and audiovisual room. The EduComp SmartClass Program will help students greatly with lessons coming live on the giant screen before them. They can even give tests and answer questions with the technology available, notes Dastoor. The DPYA High School actively promotes extracurricular activities such as excursions and competitions. All students of the Dadar Athornan Institute, located nearby, study at the School entirely free of cost.
Credit for excellence in education offered is due to senior teaching faculty led by principal Diana Pereira, along with the School committee comprising Mithoo Jesia, Shernaz Talati, Yasmin Ghaswala, Rashna Bharucha along with trustees Jimi Jesia, Hosi Baria, Darius Zaiwala, Zarir Bhathena and Dastoor. Also on the board of trustees are Hoshi Contractor, Monaz Patel and Firoze Baria, the e-mail lists.
