Inspirational woman

Farah Ghadiali, manager events marketing at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Bombay, made it to the finals of the Bajaj Allianz — Most Inspirational Working Woman 2012 contest held in April this year. She was listed among the top nine working women in India who also follow their passion (from 445 entries from all over India). Ghadiali secured 563 votes in the online voting which lasted for about a week, placing her in fourth position, as per an e-mail received by Parsiana from her.

Farah Ghadiali: passionate about singing

The final decision was a combination of votes received and points awarded by the judges. In the top three slots were Anu Vaidyanathan, who completed her PhD in electrical engineering in a record time of 22 months, works for an IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) company and is an endurance athlete; Anam Suresh, a freelance journalist who writes mainly on issues concerning women; and Sucheta Khandethankart, an information developer who is also the first woman to trek across the Gobi Desert. Ghadiali’s own accomplishments, as listed in an e-mail sent by the NCPA to its members, read: "Passionate about singing, she has won accolades and represented India abroad in contests by TV5 Monde, Alliance Francaise, World Choir Olympics in China, International Choir Games in Germany.” She has also worked along with veteran theater director Sam Kerawalla since 2010. Ghadiali is training and giving examinations from the Trinity College of London with Minaish Doctor and taking master classes from renowned London based soprano Patricia Rosario, as per information provided by the NCPA.
"Though I have not won this contest, I feel extremely proud to be in the same league as such achievers. The contest has given me a boost to strive with renewed vigor,” the still-in-her-20s Ghadiali says. She will be participating in the British Isles Music Festival in London in August 2012, for which she has received a full scholarship. She is looking forward to this intensive residential summer program where outstanding young musicians explore the repertoire with world renowned performers and teachers,” Ghadiali reveals in an e-mail.
