Decline in births
A total of 195 births occurred in the Parsi Zoroastrian community in Bombay in 2011, as per figures obtained from the Bombay Municipal Corporation and provided by Cawas S. Panthaki, senior executive (welfare) of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP). This shows a decline of 15 births from the previous year when, according to the BPP, 210 children were born. In 2010, 104 girls and 106 boys were born. For 2011 the figures are 87 and 108 respectively. There is a marked decline in the number of girls which is down by 17, while two more boys were born in 2011 than in the previous year.
