NCC honor for Bhaya
Flight Cadet Meherab Kaizad Bhaya received the award for best cadet, senior division (air) from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the National Cadet Corps (NCC) rally held in New Delhi on January 28, 2012. This was the 15th time in 21 years that the Maharashtra NCC has bagged the Prime Minister’s Banner Trophy as Champion Directorate, as per news received from Parsi Khabar. According to the online edition of Afternoon Despatch and Courier (ADC) of February 2, 2012, Maharashtra Governor K. Sankaranarayanan at a special program at Raj Bhavan in Bombay on February 1, 2012 congratulated the contingent for their exemplary presentation during the parade and for winning the Prime Minister’s Banner. The state contingent won several awards including the Shooting Championship, Most Enterprising Naval Unit, Guard of Honor and Yachting Regatta. Cadet Aneri Rajiv (junior wing) and Bhaya won gold medals in their respective wings.

The first year Bachelor of Science student at the Nowrosjee Wadia College in Poona is a first year cadet. Thus far only second year cadets have received this award. Bhaya hopes to join the Air Force, unlike his father Kaizad who holds the rank of colonel in the Indian Army.
