Tragic end

Champion trainer, member of the Board of Appeals of the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) and former chief stipendiary steward Dady Adenwalla passed away in Bombay on February 20, 2012 after an accidental fall from the balcony of his home. The 81-year-old had trained two Indian Derby winners in the 1950s, winning 11 Indian Classics before he retired as a trainer in the late 1980s. "His passing away is tragic. He was one of the finest stipes RWITC has ever had and was unbiased in his decisions. His endearing and affable personality made him very likeable,” RWITC chairman Vivek Jain was quoted in The Times of India, February 21. (A full obituary write up will follow).
