Unanswered question

Time and again it has been stated: "The sad truth remains that the chances of the Zoroastrian tradition continuing in an intermarried family are very low, be- cause in such a family children’s chil- dren will inevitably draw back to the religion of the outsider.”
The question that has not been answered is: why is this so? Why do they choose the religion of the other and not Zoroastrianism? Could it be something as simple as the fact that the others, the "outsiders,” accept the children as their own, and we do not?
