“A state of mind”
I have read "A state of mind” (Editorial Viewpoint, Parsiana, May 7, 2009). Why is Parsiana so pessimistic that for six-and-a-half years there will be no elections to the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP)? Has it ever occurred to you how bawas will survive without pulao dal, retro dance and other such goodies for so long?
I am an optimist and my optimism tells me that there will be elections during the intervening period. Maybe a trustee will succumb to the Alert Zoroastrians Association (AZA) pressure. (AZA should pressurize one trustee at a time so that there are chances of more get-togethers.) Or maybe the courts will come to the rescue of the bawa community and disqualify the five and leave only two, which will be a boon to bawas. Or an administrator may be appointed to conduct a fresh election…
Whatever way it comes about, I am for elections.
