“Della Towers dustup”

We are shocked and surprised to note the content of the item "Della Towers dustup” (Events and Personalities,” Parsiana, May 7, 2009) which is incomplete and therefore misleading.

You have failed to mention the fact that Della Tecnica Interior Design and Project Management Company Private Limited had filed a petition No 836 of 2009 against the order of Justice S. C. Deshpande of the Bombay City Civil Court (BCCC) referred to in the item. The Bombay High Court, by its order dated April 21, 2009, has admitted the petition and stayed the order of the BCCC.

Farohar Co-operative Housing Society Limited had raised several objections/grounds before the BCCC, including legality of the entire structure, which has been rejected by the court. You have referred to a "small victory” for the Farohar Co-operative Housing Society Limited without looking at the details of the demolition ordered. The construction of 1.5 meters touching the compound wall is nothing but sewage chambers and coverings and ramp wall which are not part of the main building.

Journalistic ethics demand verification of facts from the aggrieved party or at least their version of the issue before going into print.
