“Drawing the battle lines”

After the last Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) polls under adult franchise it became palpable to onlookers that for some contestants fighting and winning BPP elections had become a wanton approach to an august institution to promote personal agendas without morals. Skeptics were not reassured and knew the outcome had put the community in a dilemma for the next seven years. They saw no light at the end of the tunnel.
After reading your editorial "Drawing the battle lines” (Parsiana, January 7, 2009), such cynical reservations have come to pass. It is now clear that courtesy six on board, the vista of hyperactivity is not intended to normalize the troubled waters to maneuver the community’s majestic Titanic to safe harbor. Rather, a devil’s trio and a righteous trinity between them are hell-bent on steering a bobbing BPP vessel straight into a tsunami.
The only saving grace appears to be the opportune presence of the seventh custodian — a conscience keeper and qualified expert — to heal the malady before it strikes.
