Dadrawala’s expertise

The Planning Commission of the government of India has invited community commentator and chief executive officer of the Bombay-based Centre for Advancement of Philanthropy Noshir H. Dadrawala to join an expert group on feasibility of a new central law to serve as an alternative all-India statute for voluntary organizations in India, as per an e-mail forwarded by him to Parsiana.
Serving along with him in the expert group will be secretaries of various departments of the central government, including Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs, writes Dadrawala. He feels it is a welcome initiative on the part of the central government to work toward the enacting of a simple and liberal central law which could serve as an alternative all-India statute for voluntary organizations working in the social, welfare and development sector in the country.
