Winter Relief Fund

The Zoroastrian Winter Relief Fund is a small organization whose aim is to help the financially weak strata of our community. They come to us for educational, medical and financial help, for food, shelter, clothing and for performing religious ceremonies like navjotes, weddings, funerals and navar/maratab initiations.

During the financial year ended March 2008 we were able to collect over Rs 3,05,000 and utilized almost the entire amount as the need was great both in Maharashtra and in Gujarat. We had to turn down some requests from deserving persons due to shortage of funds. Donations pour in throughout the year, and especially during the muktad days.

We appreciate the support of our well-wishers and sponsors here and abroad, especially Aloo Naval Desai and Vera B. Santoke of California.

Donations may be sent by crossed cheque in favor of "Zoroastrian Winter Relief Fund” to Kumi J. Daroowala, 16/1 Rustom Baug, Sant Savta Marg, Bombay 400027; tel: 23724492.
