Zoroastrians Abroad
Ontario’s Holiday Towers
At a special reception on June 20, 2008 Goshpi and Byram Avari invited "all Zoroastrians and their families” to an open house to introduce their new project on the site of the former Ramada Hotel in Greater Toronto. The four-tower condominium with two fully furnished designer model suites offer studio, one and two bedroom apartments with and without a den, ranging in price from $170,900 to upwards of $259,900. A four percent discount on the purchase price was offered to Zoroastrians that day. A donation of two percent of the purchase price is promised to any one of the two associations in the area — the Zoroastrian Society of Ontario or the Ontario Zoroastrian Community Foundation — as nominated by the purchaser, to support agiaries/fire temples being built, notes the invitation card.
Avari International Hotels Limited together with award winning FRAM Building Group celebrated with a special VIP cocktail reception the opening of the presentation center for their new Holiday Towers masterplanned community near Etobicoke’s West Mall, notes a write-up from the company. The event featured elegant marquis tents erected just outside the presentation center where close to 1,000 guests toured the center and two beautifully designed model suites, it adds further.

What is "especially attractive is the surrounding mature, well-established residential neighborhood,” stated Mariana Giannone of FRAM. "You are a few hundred feet away from Broadacres Park with its planned new day care center and children’s play areas, a few minutes from Centennial Park with its Olympic swimming pool and 27 hole golf course, and within an easy stroll of schools, places of worship and all kinds of shopping.” With a bus stop within easy reach delivering passengers to the subway line in less than 10 minutes, the site is stated to be just 10 minutes from the airport by car, 20 minutes to downtown Toronto or Mississauga.
When completed the four towers will be joined by a "four-level terraced podium which will contain green roofs, amenities and residential suites wrapping around a lushly landscaped courtyard,” notes the press release.
Avari and FRAM are said to have taken special care with Holiday Towers to create a green lifestyle with energy efficient appliances and green rooftops that will be gardens designed to filter storm water and keep the interior cool.
"The company has also paid special attention to ensuring a welcoming neighborhood as residents begin to move in. It will have contributed almost two million dollars to the city to create an expanded day care center, install playgrounds and trails, widen sidewalks, plant trees, calm traffic, enhance pedestrian safety and improve transit service in the area.
"The developer will be contributing an additional $ 1.5 million toward parkland improvements, the majority of which will be spent on local park improvements at Broadacres Park and Cen-tennial Park,” notes the press release.
"The goal is to create the perfect community where residents can happily live, work and play,” states Giannone.
