“Guarded secret”
August 9, 2008 may prove the pivotal day in the annals of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) trusteeship elections with the Adult Franchise for Progress (AFP) group unveiling their slate of candidates.
Advertisements issued in the Parsi Press bill the event to be held at the Y. B. Chavan Auditorium as "a historic inaugural meeting to launch the AFP trustee panel.” Founded by community activist, noted lawyer and columnist Berjis Desai along with members of the Alert Zoroastrians Association (AZA) and like-minded groups and individuals, the AFP is expected to offer a slate comprising prominent and competent Zoroastrians. "Their identity is the community’s closest guarded secret,” wrote Desai in his "Parsi Tari Arsi” column in The Bombay Samachar of July 27, 2008.
