Zoroastrians Abroad
Houston retirement plans
Two Zoroastrian residents of Houston are planning to set up a small private project of 16 housing units for Zarathushti retirees in the area. To be developed by Noshir Challa and Kersi Engineer on property currently owned by Noshir and Khurshid Challa adjacent to the Zoroastrian Houston Community Center, each single-storey unit will comprise two bedrooms and two baths, as per an announcement forwarded by Arnavaz Sethna of Houston.
To be sold at cost price — the developers are eschewing any profit — each housing unit will be the property of the buyer, with a provision for common security. A homeowners’ association is expected to be formed to take care of common areas. Challa and Engineer have noted explicitly that the project does not envisage assisted living or nursing home facilities.
