A ‘Pat’ on the back

"We sincerely recognize, appreciate and applaud the services extended for 25 years as past district governor by Lion Pat A. Nalladaru, District Governor 1982-83” read the citation from the Past District Governors’ Forum of Lions Clubs International, presented to Nalladaru in Secunderabad on June 18, 2007. This honor was in recognition of Nalladaru’s services to Lions Clubs International and to society in general, reveals a write-up forwarded to Parsiana by journalist Keki Doodhwala of Surat.
Nalladaru’s tryst with Lionism began with the Lions Club of Secunderabad Cantonment of which he was declared best president 1974-75. As zonal chairman he added 14 new clubs and was declared best deputy district governor. He was installed as district governor at the International Convention held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, in June-July 1982. Widely traveled, Nalladaru has garnered a string of awards during his long innings as a Lion leader, one of which is the coveted million-member award, informs Doodhwala. Nalladaru is married to Lion Lady Perviz who is equally committed to the cause and was declared best Lion Lady president of the District and is past president of Secunderabad’s Zoroastrian Stree Mandal. The couple’s three daughters are well qualified: one is an architect, the second an ophthalmic surgeon and the third an advocate, Doodhwala’s write-up reveals.
