Parsis of Jhansi
We have recently started a website called "Parsis in Jhansi” on which we wish to record the history of the Zoroastrian community of the city. We have already recorded information based on our limited knowledge and resources. The Zoroastrians played a major role in the development of the railways, business, the military and many other spheres in northern India since around 1850. As recorded, Parsis were present in and around Delhi and Jhansi circa 1857.
We request readers from Jhansi and nearby areas to contact us if they have any information on people who hail from there. We would like to hear from them and add their inputs in our website. We feel this is the first initiative of its kind in our community worldwide, though we are open to correction on this count.
