“Doongerwadi bunglis”
In his letter "Doongerwadi bunglis” (Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, April 21, 2007), Eruch Desai has invoked the name of Noshir Dadrawala four times and the pronoun "he” referring to Dadrawala a further five times. Who is the real speaker in Desai’s letter, Desai or Dadrawala?
If Desai wants to get his body consigned to the non-functional dakhma, so be it, but his claim that it is mandatory for all and sundry to rot and stink in the dakhma even after the disappearance of the vultures is absurd.
The Originating Summons in the Bombay High Court, which he calls an unwise move, was finally the only alternative to usher in the much-needed reform.
