Thermax order book up
"It is smooth sailing as of now for Thermax,” states The Economic Times in a report dated November 17, 2006. The engineering company’s order book has jumped 142 percent to Rs 2,973 crores as of September 30, 2006, state the correspondents. "It is a sign that growth will sustain though there could be variation in the quarterly results which are normal in the engineering business.”

The engineering segment manufacturing cogeneration plants, boilers and industrial coolers which contribute 80 percent of the company’s turnover "is doing well,” states the report. The environment segment (water treatment, pollution control) is not faring as well, notes the write up. But overall profit before tax increased 73 percent to Rs 115 crore, as interest and depreciation were relatively low.
