Funds for Frohar
For our minuscule Zoroastrian community, it is of paramount importance that on auspicious occasions we indulge in revelry, and, even more important that we remember with pride our past achievements, our glorious heritage, our inspiring history and our enviable culture. Living in the present, remembering our glorious past, helps us to plan for a sound future.
Over the last five years, the Frohar Foundation has been telecasting, on a fairly regular basis, snippets of our religion, rites and rituals, institutions, interviews with leaders and events of significance to the Parsi community that create awareness of our background, instil a sense of pride of belonging and motivate our community members towards becoming even better Zoroastrians than they are.
On every Sunday at 11.05 a.m. our teleserial Humata, Hukhta, Hvarshta which showcases Zoroastrian values, culture and way of life can be viewed on Zee Gujarati channel of the Zee Network.
The telecasts that are beamed are actually a labor of love and depend entirely on the largesse of individual philanthropists and supportive institutions. At present the cost involved in the production of each episode of the teleserial amounts to Rs 48,000. Whilst our efforts involve giving of our time and our talent, finance is a very crucial input that is required to continue production of new episodes. Each and every one of our 103 episodes has been produced from donations. Your support will help to keep Humata, Hukhta, Hvarshta alive, and help in all our charitable endeavors.
The Frohar Foundation is also involved in a very small way in other charitable activities – helping destitute women and children, giving medical aid to the needy and awarding educational scholarships. We need your valuable support for the same.
Our heart goes out to the hundreds of unfortunate people of Surat who have been rendered homeless and destitute due to the recent floods. The Frohar Foundation has created a Special Flood Relief Fund and we welcome donations for the same. Your valuable contributions will help us buy clothes, blankets, food, water and other medical supplies for the citizens of Surat.
The donations are exempted under section 80G of the Income Tax Act. Jam-e-Jamshed has graciously consented to collect donations on behalf of Frohar Foundation. Cheques in the name of "Frohar Foundation” may be sent to 12, Karani House, Off Dr C. H. Street, Dhobi Talao, Bombay 400002, e-mail: froharfilms@ yahoo.com, tel: 22000831, 65069313.
