“‘Chikkotee’ culled from?”

I would like to join Bhikhaji M. Adenwalla in his quest for the meaning of chikkotee ("‘Chikkotee’ culled from?” Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, June 7, 2006).
I also studied at Bilimoria High School, Panchgani from 1942 to 1954 and I recall, as if it were yesterday, Navi’s Wednesday haircuts followed by rounds of "chikkotees” pasted on the back of my neck! The tradition, continued to this day by my wife Dinoo every time I return home after a haircut, brings back nostalgic memories of my school days.
I hope, through Parsiana, we will find the meaning and origin of the "chikkotee” custom.
