<I>Chhello Parsi</I>
Farzan Rohin Karanjia, a scion of the talented Karanjia family of Surat, who played the main role of Sorabji Bawa in the play Chhello Parsi written by Piyush Bhatt and enacted at the youth festival organized by the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University in February 2006 was adjudged the best actor, winning a trophy, certificate and the Chandravadan Chunilal Mehta First Prize, notes a press release by Marzban Giara. Karanjia was performing for his Surat People’s Bank English Medium College of Commerce where he is a Second Year BCom student. Of the 27 colleges vying in the one-act play competition, Chhello Parsi won the third prize.

Karanjia: histrionics honored
Karanjia had earlier acted in a TV serial and a play in Ahmedabad. For three consecutive years his casio playing had won him the first prize at the talent contest sponsored by the Surat Parsi Pragati Mandal, notes his curriculum vitae. Since his school days at St Xavier’s Ahmedabad and St Xavier’s Surat, Karanjia had been winning prizes in inter-class fancy dress and mono-acting competitions.
An active sportsman, Karanjia enjoys his cricket game, participating in various local matches and even representing the Surat Parsis for the Irani Trophy, notes his life profile.
