The pristine prayers

On a hot sizzling summer day/As I dreamily lay/Wasting my life away/I eyed the Khordeh Avesta/In the prayer corner/Where it quietly lay/I took a tiny teeny peek/As I was extremely curious/What knowledge I was about to seek
It was a herculean task/To pronounce and practice/Each word and each line/I was not about to give up/As I was stubbornly inclined/Not to give up an opportunity/Of a life time
From the Srosh Baj/To the Gahs/As well the Gathas/How refreshing, how joyful/To pray the very words/Uttered by Asho Zarathushtra
As the going got tough/Tough got tougher/I decided never to part/The pristine prayers/Prayed from the heart/’Cause I knew then and there/They’ll always be on board/I know for sure/There is a God.
