Divide and multiply

"What has happened is actually a plus point for the traditionals since we now have two staunch traditional mailing lists which support all the seven pillars of our religion as outlined by the late religious scholar Roni Khan who used to write... against the Gatha-alone cult based in North America. Tradition is the bedrock of our religion and we are proud of it. The more traditional mailing lists there are, the religion will be served better,” wrote Porus Havewala, the erstwhile owner of the Traditional Zarathushtris Mailing List (TZML) when Parsiana sought his clarification after reporting on the split between the TZML and the breakaway Traditional MazdaYasni Zarathushtis (TMYZ) in Events and Personalities (Parsiana, February 21, 2006).

Havewala continued, "I resigned from the TZML in early December 2005 and I am no longer associated with the TZML or the TMYZ... my resignation was (for) personal family and health reasons. I had announced this in early December 2005 before I left.”

Referring to his appointment of Tehemton Adenwalla as co-owner, Havewala added, "Co-owners are appointed by mailing list owners for emergency purposes when the owner is not online for a long time. This is standard practice on the internet.

"I fully support the TMYZ board which has always guided the tradi­tionals, and which has religious luminaries as its members who have a lot of knowledge about our religion. I have approved the formation of the TMYZ and have linked the Traditional Zoroastrianism and Matrimonial site to the TMYZ.”
