Donate organs
Just as we have the dental department, the orthopedic department, the ophthalmic department and others, cannot a hospital open a department where people could donate their organs after their death e.g. heart, kidneys, skin, liver or any other?
We Parsis talk of charity and are ready to give our bodies to the vultures to eat after our death; but if the vultures are not there, wouldn’t it be a better idea to donate the various organs for the benefit of society? People are in dire need of kidneys, which are not available and they have to undergo great trauma with the dialysis machines. Wouldn’t a kidney donated to that person be of greater help?
I shall be the first one to donate my organs to a hospital if it could be used for the benefit of my fellowmen. My eyes have already been pledged.
