“Let’s go for grub”
On reading through Parsiana (July 7, 2005), the story which really interested me was the one on Grub Corner ("Let’s go for grub”). My mom sold it to the two Parsis even when another Indian (a neighboring shop) offered a higher price. My mom did this so that it would continue to be a Parsi institution and that income would come to a Zoroastrian home. Finally your story mentions Gundecha Chambers and Cafe Health but not the name of the owner, my dad, Manchershaw Hormusji Davierwalla, who was the premier hotelier of Cafe Health and Cecil Hotel Matheran, etc. Just wanted to let you know that when you mention history, you need to get the facts right or else some folks may tend to get their feelings hurt. Cafe Health was a Zoroastrian institution to the end.
