Sensible census

The word ‘world’ is very popular at

present,

with the Parsi units, past and present.

Then why Parsis in India are only

accounted

And not combined figures of the world

counted?

Fall in the population, anyone

has not found

If we consider numbers of Parsis all

around.

Census may not be, to the point

accurate;

But more than two lakhs, was the

estimate

Yes! Population of Parsis has dwindled

in India sure,

Due to less births and deaths more. Emigration of youngsters to foreign

countries

For their higher education and career

opportunities

When they opt to stay with their families

there

We don’t get advantage at all, of their

skill fair.

The sophisticated standard of living,

is also the reason;

For late marriages and fertility

detention.

Couples prefer to stay separate in their

own quarters;

Scarcity of flats is also one of the serious

factors.

Judgment declares, deserving Parsi

racial heritage

Children of Parsi fathers only have the

privilege.

But they are not Parsi, if father is alien;

Non-Parsi inlaws have claim on

children.

Girls are considered as the asset of

inlaws

For the fall in numbers, this is also

a cause.

If we do not consider those

without religious vigor,

And cultural heritage; what will be

actual figure?

Fall in numbers may be a heavenly

process;

By eliminating those, with cultural

quality less.

Revival has started now and awareness

has increased;

Thank God! The future of the

community is bright indeed.

Let us entrust the destiny in His

hands!

Who knows better to preserve cultural

trends!
