Ghost of a world body
The current Shahenshahi YZ 1374 is named after the great Iranian King, Yazdegard Sheheriar. In the Hindu calendar, the ‘Samvat’ is named after the renowned and popular monarch Vikramaditya.
It is said that the evil ghost Vaital sits on a helpless Vikram’s shoulders and forces him to convert his good intentions to evil purposes.
Today the ghost of a world body and suspected conversion has a hold on the minds of a few in our community who try to obstruct some useful welfare projects. This ghost constantly enhances fright regarding the future of our community.
Since long, an unwanted controversy in the public media, creates a poor impression of disunity in our community. General readers are also bored with the monotonous controversy over a world body, and they are not interested in the washing of dirty linen in public. It is now enough!
It is similar to the musician boring the audience with his sarod recital in a town hall. Someone requested the musician: "Please stop harping the same tunes! We are expecting some melodious, soothing tunes that can give peace of mind.”
Likewise readers are more interested in useful information and articles that can throw light on religious matters to guide us on the right path. As devoted Zarathushtrians can we not have Ahura takesho (firm faith) in the wisdom of Mazda in whose hands our future is safe and sound? Let Father Time decide our destiny. Time is the healer of all ailments. Our destiny is already decided in the court of Dadaar.
Unity in our small community is most necessary. May Ahura grant Vohu Mana — good sense for the continuation of our Parsi cultural heritage and make our youngsters proud to be Parsis and Zarathushtrians. Let us have positive thinking for the future of our community.
