Sporting recognition

The Zonta Club of Bombay III presented the Club’s Woman of the Year Award to Diana Edulji, former captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, world record holder and present selector. Edulji received the honor at the hands of chief guest Dr Jyoti Soneji, chairperson of International Inner Wheel District 314 at the Zonta Club’s 24th charter anniversary function.

If Edulji could select and coach budding female cricketing talent from schools and colleges in Bombay, the Zonta Club III would like to take this up as a unique Club project, noted Havovi Dotivala, past president and area director in her introductory remarks. The meet was chaired by president Gulshan Patel, with district governor Freny Gimi and past district governor Mitha Shroff also gracing the occasion.
