The President of India has appointed Air Marshal Manek B. Madon, air officer commanding-in-chief of the Eastern Air Command as his honorary Air Aide-De-Camp (ADC) effective January 1, 2003. "The appointment of honorary ADC is conferred on the six seniormost air marshals of the Indian Air Force for their inspiring and dynamic leadership, innovations, sustained hard work and life long service of the most exceptional order to the motherland,” notes a communiqué from squadron leader Deepak Ahluwalia.
