“New community anthem”

With regard to Jehangir Medora’s letter ("New community anthem,” Parsiana, May 2003), may I suggest Freddy Mercury (Farok Bulsara)’s classic hit We are the Champions as an alternative to Chhaiyé Hamé Zarathushti? The following is merely a suggestion for the first verse, but the words from the Queen (as his band is known) hit can easily be adapted:

"We are Zoroastrians, my friend,/and we’ll keep surviving to the end,/for we are Zoroastrians,/We are Zoroastrians,/No time for losers/for we are Zoroastrians/of the world.”

Not only is this music triumphant and uplifting as an anthem should be, it was also written and sung by apro Farok!

I’m sure that legal and copyright issues can be amicably sorted out by the numerous interested parties.
