Alexanders apart
It was one Alexander (the Great) who destroyed our libraries, and all the vestiges of Parsi culture. Now, it is another Alexander (Dr P. C.), who releases a book on the rich Parsi culture, generating an all-new interest in it (see "This monumental work,” Books, Parsiana, August 2002). Ironic, is it not? Or, is it a case of poetic justice?
Nevertheless, now that the brouhaha over the book’s twin release is over, may we have a ‘proper’ critical review of this seven-kg tome in Parsiana?
