Cawasji made captain

Commander Aspi Cawasji was the only delegate from India to be invited by the Dalhousie University of Halifax, Canada to present a paper at the recently concluded seminar on Regional Maritime Security in the Indian Ocean, notes a press release. Scholars, specialists in strategic studies, defence analysts and select naval officers attended the seminar conducted by The Centre for Foreign Policy Studies as part of its maritime security and oceans policy program.




Cawasji: higher command


Following this participation, Caw-asji was promoted to the rank of captain of the Indian Navy and was selected for the prestigious Naval Higher Command Cour­se at Bombay, mentions his brother Brig P. Cawasji.
A postgraduate in defence and strategic studies from Chennai (Madras) University, Cawasji has been associated with the Submarine Service of the Indian Navy for nearly two decades during which time he commanded Shankush, Shishumar, Karanj and Shalki besides holding other important assignments. Presently he holds the post of commander submarines, west coast region, according to the press release.
