Yazdi Desai launches campaign

Sitting Bombay Parsi Punchayet trustee and the youngest founder trustee of the World Alliance of Parsi Irani Zarthoshtis (WAPIZ) Yazdi Desai was the first of the 25 candidates to hold a publicly announced election campaign. The meet at the C. J. Colony Recreation Centre on September 19, 2015 was attended by around 100 WAPIZ supporters and residents of the neighboring Tata Colony and Captain Colony. "None of the candidates can compare with my track record of community service,” claimed Desai who professed allegiance to Doongerwadi, financial discipline in his sphere of work and a vision that extends beyond managing Parsi colonies.

At the same meeting that extended for nearly two hours, WAPIZ offered a 10-minute platform to independent candidate Tehmtan Dumasi whose priority was transparency in Punchayet affairs.
