BPP elections

A consensus panel reportedly has been tentatively formed to contest the forthcoming Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) elections on October 18. The candidates are Dastur Khurshed Dastoor, Yazdi Desai, Zarir Bhathena, Viraf Mehta, a nominee to be named by Kersi Randeria, and Darius Tirandaz who will contest the seat expected to be vacated by his mother Armaity. BPP trustee Muncherji Cama has withdrawn his resignation, but "as there is no stay granted by a court/authority we are going ahead” with his election, stated Desai in an email to Cama dated August 7, 2015. Desai added, "We will abide by any order which will be passed in any inquiry/proceedings.” A hearing is fixed before the Charity Commissioner for August 12, 2015.

Dastoor is to assume the chairmanship of the BPP if the panel wins.
