Parsi Lying-in Hospital case

24 March 2017

Without going into the merits of the case, the Supreme Court has disposed of former Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) Dinshaw Mehta’s application regarding his objections to the redevelopment of the Parsi Lying-In Hospital (PLIH). Noting that Krimson Health Ventures Private Limited (KHPL) had withdrawn their proposal to convert the maternity Hospital into a specialty orthopedic hospital the Court noted "when the scheme/agreement cannot now be given effect to due to parties’ own volition, there does not arise any need for this Court to decide its legality or correctness on merits.”
