Alarming 18% decline in Parsi population since 2001 census in India

The 2011 Government of India census figures put the Indian Parsi population at 57,264, according to news sources. A figure of 60,000 was anticipated but the figure cited is lower. The decline is probably greater than believed in the out-of-Bombay centers. The 2001 all-India census figure for Parsis was 69,601.
