Proposed change in Federation of the Parsi Zoroastrian Anjumans rules
The proposed changes to the Federation of the Parsi Zoroastrian Anjumans of India (FPZAI) rules and regulations permit foreign Zoroastrian associations as liaison members of the FPZAI even if that association permits "membership to non-Parsi/Irani Zoroastrian spouses of Parsi/Irani Zoroastrians or children of such marriage.” But the next sentence states that "foreign
anjumans that permit or encourage ‘converts’ to join their membership shall not be admitted into membership of the Federation. he word ‘convert’ shall mean a person, both of whose parents are non-Parsi/Irani Zoroastrians, who professes to have converted himself or herself to the Zoroastrian religion, with or without the performance of a navjote ceremony.”
The proposed amendments will be discussed at the forthcoming FPZAI meeting in Bombay this April 2nd and 3rd.
