Hail, Honour Bound
Three years after authoring his first memoir titled Honour Bound — Adventures of an Indian Lawyer in the English Courts, London based Sarosh Zaiwalla continues to impress readers. Nearly a month ago he was commended by Lord Jeffrey Archer, an English novelist, life peer, former elected politician who is currently a member of the House of Lords. Congratulating Zaiwalla for his "excellent book,” Archer added, "I can see you have had a remarkable career which only shows why so many Indians have succeeded in this country, not least our Prime Minister.” Reassured by this validation, Zaiwalla’s post on Linkedin read, "It is a true honor to receive recognition from such a literary giant and I am most grateful for his kind words.”
Published by Harper Collins, Honour Bound had been launched in London, Delhi, Dubai and Bombay (see "A lawyer’s lore,” Books, Parsiana, September 7-20, 2020). The book details Zaiwalla’s remarkable legal career and most interesting cases throughout the years and has been read over all the world since its launch. However the book that was temporarily withdrawn from India following complaints by Member of Parliament and Congress party spokesperson Dr Abhishek Singhvi who alleged that the memoirs made defamatory statements against his late father, L. M. Singhvi, a former Indian High Commissioner to the UK, is now available on Amazon again following withdrawal of the suit in November 2021.Founder of Zaiwalla & Co in 1982, Zaiwalla oversees all activities relating to the legal firm. He has earned recognition from The Legal 500 and was twice named Lawyer of the Week by The Times. Specializing in arbitration and mediation, Zaiwalla has been reportedly involved in over 1,200 international arbitrations and complex multi-jurisdictional cases. The experienced litigator has represented many prestigious clients including the President of India, China National Petroleum Corporation, Bank Mellat, Central Bank of Venezuela, National Iranian Drilling Company and many other international private and public corporations.

For 12 years (1990-2002) he was a member of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris representing India. At the end of the tenure in 2002 he was awarded with India’s National Law Day prize by the Indian Prime Minister.
