“A dream encounter”

While every issue of Parsiana is wonderfully compiled and presented, I found the latest issue (October 21-November 6, 2023) particularly absorbing. Three stirring stories back-to-back from utterly diverse backgrounds in a single issue have made it a reader’s delight.
Navroze Dhondy’s recollection ("A dream encounter”) of his chance meeting with the charming and humane J. R. D. Tata (pictured), Noshir Sanjana’s pleasant and a rather mysterious experience with the saintly Mother Teresa ("Mother Teresa’s miracle?”) and the first part of the indomitable Nanabhai Davar and his wife’s heart-stopping trip to Ladakh ("The woman who returned alive”) at a time when nobody even knew about thermals. Berjis Desai’s rather ingenious piece on surrogacy (or should I call it visionary?) with a view to reversing our demographic decline ("Can surrogacy reverse demographic decline?”) was like a cherry on the sumptuous spread.
These are just the sort of stories that make this exceptional community magazine worth the wait. And it’s only fair that the good folks in your editorial department know about the same.

A young collegian’s recollections of an accidental "meeting” with industrialist J. R. D. Tata ("A dream encounter,” Parsiana, October 21-November 6, 2023) mirror a typical reflection of JRD.
